The leasing company gave Customer B a great deal for
a two room office in their recently renovated office
complex. An older building, it had had a facelift of
mostly paint and new carpets. And almost from the beginning
Customer B started to feel like something wasn't quite
right.
Eye and skin irritation, were constant when he was
in the office, and he soon developed a dry cough that
seemed to ease when he was away from the office for
any period of time. While in the building, headaches
were frequent and a general feeling of "blah"
would come over him, to the point that he started to
look for opportunities to be out of the office. He found
himself spending less time there, looking for any reason
to stay away which seemed to ease his symptoms, and
started to raise his suspicions that there may be something
wrong in the building.
A national news report on the hazards of mold, got
him to thinking that his symptoms strangely matched
the report on tv and found he was wanting to dig deeper
into what might be the cause of the matter. That's when
he called us.
In came Duke and Mold Dogs of Utah. Almost immediately
Duke picked up the scent of mold in the building, and
when in the office itself his Nose that Knows isolated
the scent of mold in the wall that divided the two offices.
It was later found that mold had taken up residence
with a vengeance stemming from an ongoing water cooler
leak from the offices upstairs.
After contacting the leasing company, and their finding
of the out-of-control mold growth, they gladly gave
him another office at one of their other properties.
Customer B, before moving to the new office called on
Duke once more to check out the new office for any mold
alerts, which none were found.
